CIA Militia in the Heartland

The Secret Life Of Extreme Militias

TIME magazines latest cover story focusing on "The Secret Life of Extreme Militias" profiles the Ohio Defense Force and given the magazine's long standing reputation as the mouthpiece and sometimes bully pulpit of American establishment politics as well as its less admitted role as one of the mainstays of Orwellian thought control, it is instructive to peruse the contents of the Henry R. Luce Foundation's latest efforts to ensure homogeneity in the thinking of its extensive readership regarding the burgeoning militia movement in the United States.

The deceptively simple and tidy analysis which typifies TIME's attempt to pigeon hole complex issues, effectively dismissing them from any further more thorough and extensive journalistic endeavor, belies the psychological and behavioristic models which underlie a blatant form of newspeak propaganda which partakes more of the subliminal techniques of modern advertising than real journalism. With its stable of editors and reporters firmly entrenched and embedded in the government think tanks and military and intelligence agencies, one can discern an insidious and barely discernible attempt to shape and mold public opinion into such acceptable categories of opinion as resonate with the long established agendas of what some critics have termed its "media fascist empire".

On the surface, it would appear that the Luce Foundation associates the maneuverings and military exercises of the ODF with the recent activities of what they characterize as a deranged and dangerous assemblage of psychopaths, foremost of whom is one James Cummings, shot to death by his wife (?) in the little town of Belfast, Maine on December 9, 2008. Cummings apparently was engaged in the piecemeal assembly of a radioactive "dirty bomb" which he allegedly wanted to drive to Washington DC in the undercarriage of a motor home. Also profiled is octogenarian James Von Brunn who achieved notoriety in the June 2009 shooting of a security guard at the Holocaust Museum. As will be shown however, this convenient conflation serves only to cloak the hidden agenda of the political and paramilitary wings of black ops government intelligence agencies operating within the Ohio Defense Force and undoubtedly numerous other militia movements.

Along with a host of other "patriot", states rights, and militia luminaries who have momentarily grabbed headlines for their anti-government activities that it traces back several decades, TIME paints a lurid picture of various outrageous provocations enacted in the name of defending the constitutional rights of American citizens against the ever encroaching tyranny of the federal government. While generally avoiding the considerable and even lethal excesses of the ATF and FBI against various "patriot" groups, TIME focuses on the supposed "lone wolves" who seemingly spontaneously emerge from the wider context of the anti-government fringe with random acts of violence. This bizarre and growing retinue of Manchurian candidates and government provocateurs have served in the minds of many to brand legitimate dissent with the inevitable recrimination of "terrorism" effectively neutralizing political opposition. This "demonization"of a movement which has gained new found mainstream acceptance in the "Tea Party" and Libertarian campaigns of Congressman Ron Paul and Lyndon LaRouce, is widely challenged across a spectrum of anti-establishment forums, most notably but scarcely limited to Alex Jones Infowars and Prisonplanet media outlets.

Jones' vocal and untiring promotion of certain militia proponents such as Steve Quayle and the notorious Mark Koernke has undoubtedly provided millions with exposure to the so called "patriot" and militia movements and their apparent opposition to the "New World Order" enemy which Jones, as he never ceases to inform us, has gone to great and selfless lengths to expose, true Son of Liberty that he is. On the other hand Jones himself has come under increasing suspicion as a tool of controlled opposition and agent provocateur. Indeed both Jones and Quayle have amassed considerable fortunes with the vast commercialization and merchandising of the "patriot" counter culture. Needless to say, an essential component of the true patriot's stockpiles of ready provisions for the approaching NWO showdown is a vast array of weaponry as befits any red blooded American's rights and even duties under the Second Amendment to the US Constitution. Indeed if there is one issue which unites the disparate and contentious factions which form the volatile bubbling cauldron (formerly melting pot) of American social and cultural identity it is the unfettered access to the largest and most varied arsenal in world history.

The Ohio Defense Force Liberates The Roseville State Prison

Though the TIME magazine article depicts the Ohio Defense Force as an independent militia, the group is actually one of a number of State Defense Forces created by State Approved Charters across the nation. The ODF was founded by William B. Alexander, a former navy seal, along with two former Ohio SWAT team officers. They train by state approval on state land in uniform. According to Ohio State Law it is against the law for militias to do otherwise. For reasons to be discussed later, none of this was revealed in the TIME article. This past August the ODF engaged in mock operations at and around the abandoned Roseville State Prison near Zanesville.

Camouflaged and silent, the assault team inched toward a walled stone compound for more than five hours, belly-crawling the last 200 yards. The target was an old state prison in eastern Ohio, and every handpicked member of Red Team 2 knew what was at stake: The year is 2014, and a new breed of neo-Islamic terrorism is rampant in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio... The current White House Administration is pro-Muslim and has ordered a stand-down against Islamic groups. The mission: Destroy the terrorist command post — or die trying. The fighters must go in "sterile"—without name tags or other identifying insignia—as a deniable covert force. "Anyone who is caught or captured cannot expect extraction," the briefing officer said.

Though the exercises were grueling, exhausting and conducted with blank ammunition, the military character and training involved were quite real and apparently conducted according to strict military protocols. Although the TIME article suggests that this "moderate" militia was perhaps gearing up for a possible confrontation with the FBI or ATF, the real enemy potentially awaiting the ODF remains a subject of much speculation especially among members. It is interesting to note that the last mentioned protocols above are recognized signature practices of the 17th Special Operations Group, a delegation of which happened to be attending the ODF exercises under the command of Colonel Dick Wolf, a former Army drill sergeant, who in addition to taking a unit of the Group to join in armed patrols along the Mexican border, "travels around the country, to train groups in knife fighting and convoy operations" Knife fighting is also a signature specialty of the SOG.

The presence of the Special Operations Group seems to indicate at the very least a significant degree of government and professional military involvement in the activities of these "citizen soldiers", a strange conundrum for a militia possibly training for an armed confrontation with agencies of that same government. In fact the involvement of the 17th Special Operations Group reveals a covert liaison which the editors at TIME magazine may be only exposing under advisement of their intelligence agency imbed as a tacit acknowledgement of what is direct involvement of high level government intelligence agencies in the Ohio Defense Force. The Special Operations Group is actually an "element operating under the Special Activities Division (SAD), a division of the Central Intelligence Agency's National Clandestine Service "responsible for covert operations, black operations and other 'special activities'."(Wikipedia) There are two groups operating under the aegis of SAD, one for paramilitary operations and the other for political operations. One might assume that the ODF has a political action group attached to it as well.

Special Operations Group (SOG) is the element within SAD responsible for paramilitary operations. These operations include collection of intelligence in hostile countries and regions, and all high threat military or intelligence operations with which the U.S. government does not wish to be overtly associated.[3] As such, members of the unit (called Paramilitary Operations Officers) normally do not carry any objects or clothing (e.g., military uniforms) that would associate them with the United States government.[4] If they are compromised during a mission, the government of the United States may deny all knowledge.[5] Wikipedia

It is noteworthy that SOG activities involve "the collection of intelligence in hostile countries and regions and all high threat military or intelligence operations with which the US government does not wish to be overtly associated with". I guess we are now to assume that the US heartland now falls within the category of hostile territory and by inference that CIA trained and funded "patriot" militias, a.k.a. State Defense Forces, are now being deployed in advance of much anticipated massive civil unrest and social anarchy expected to follow the economic collapse and subsequent social disintegration of the United States. Thus any doubts of the members of the Ohio Defense Force as to the identity of the mysterious "enemy" for whom they are in combat training and whom they have alternately characterized as the ATF/FBI, private security contractors, UN forces or even Mexican national troops can be largely dispelled. To quote the legendary cartoonist and social critic Walt Kelly in the words of his beloved Pogo. "We have met the enemy and he is us"

your despicable slander that the ODF is in any way supported or funded by the government is based on lies and innuendo. Colonel Wolf is a great patriot. The future belongs to the BOLD not to maggoty, whiny spud intellectuals like you. You look Islamist. Someday you could get a surprise visit. Watch your back.

wow judging from that last comment, one has to wonder what anonymous considers a great and "bold" patriot. i prefer the "maggoty"(his wonderfully graphic term) intellectuals like yourself who think before acting. otherwise how would one ever know who it is one is fighting, and why?

a very interesting article, though I don't pretend to know much at all about the ohio defense force.

It seems like you think the "17th Special Operations Group" is a real, government-sanctioned Army unit. It's not.

let me repeat: The Special Operations Group is actually an "element operating under the Special Activities Division (SAD), a division of the Central Intelligence Agency's National Clandestine Service "responsible for covert operations, black operations and other 'special activities'."(Wikipedia) . If that is not " a real government sanctioned Army unit, then what the hell is it.
